Why Shop Floor Advisors?
No, We Don’t Sell Flooring
It’s a fair question.
When people first hear the name Shop Floor Advisors, some assume we’re in the flooring business. We’re not.
The name has nothing to do with tile, hardwood, carpet, or flooring products.
It has everything to do with where real business problems — and real business solutions — are found.
The Story Behind The Name
After more than forty years of owning and operating plumbing, water treatment, and septic service companies, I learned something very important.
“ The answers are rarely found in the office. They’re found on the
shop floor.”
The shop floor is where the work gets done.
It’s where customer service representatives answer calls.
It’s where dispatchers coordinate schedules.
It’s where technicians prepare for the day.
It’s where inventory is managed.
It’s where communication either succeeds or breaks down.
It’s where profits are earned— or lost.
It’s where the rubber meets the road.
Where Hidden Profits Are Found
When I work with a company, I don’t start with spreadsheets.
I look for:
Wasted Motion
Bottlenecks
Communication breakdowns
Inefficient processes
Missed opportunities
Profit leaks hiding in plain sight
Over the years, I’ve found that many business owners work incredibly hard but never have time to step back and see what’s really happening inside their operation. That’s where a fresh set of experienced eyes can make all the difference.
That’s where I can help
Why “Shop Floor Advisors” ?
Because meaningful improvement starts where the work gets done.
The name reflects my belief that lasting results come from understanding the daily reality of a business— not from sitting in a boardroom looking at reports.
I walk the shop floors with business owners, managers, and employees to create a better understanding of how every part of the business depends on others.
That process uncovers hidden profits, reduces wasted motion, and improves overall performance.
Built By An Operator
I am not a career consultant.
I am an operator.
I spent four decades serving customers, leading teams, solving problems, and building businesses.
The lessons I share come from real-world experience, real mistakes, and real successes.
That’s why the company is called Shop Floor Advisors.
Because that’s where improvement begins.
And that’s where results are created.
